I will touch a life today

I don’t care if nobody claps for me — I’m still proud of myself for pulling myself out of dark places no one even knew I was stuck in. For being kind when I had every reason to shut down. For forgiving people who never apologized. For showing up for others when I barely had the energy to show up for myself. For setting boundaries and finally choosing me. I’ve been through hell quietly, smiled through pain, healed in silence. And now, I’m walking into everything I deserve — no applause needed, no validation required. I know what it took to get here. That’s enough for me to be proud.

When respect becomes rare, kindness becomes power. The way you speak, the way you listen, the way you handle others’ emotions, that’s where true respect is shown.

Respectfully, I don't go above & beyond for people no more. I meet you as far as you meet me. I speak to you as much as you speak to me. I include as much as you include me. I'm done being extra. 

 As you grow older, you realize that only the low maintenance friendship truly last, the ones that don't stress over a rain check or a delayed reply. The friends who understand we're all navigating busy lives and personal battles. The one who make friendship feel effortless, not draining, and remind you it's meant to be the easiest part of life.
